I am a poet my words are an extension of my mind transferred to paper through the hand of an artist

With nothing left to say fade away into the shadows of another dark day,

 

Just when ready to leave you still have no reasons for me to want to stay,

 

Bags packed foot on the gas knowing there is no need to ever look back,

 

Thought you were going to be my future you are turning out to be my past,

 

We were completly different people always standing our ground steadfast,

 

Only one heart can be left without scars who will the victor of this love war,

 

Ask one question will you be standing tall or in the end your own downfall,

 

Days turn to nights as we toss and turn being alone still wont ever feel right,

 

When your gone away its the way every little damn thing has been killing me,

 

Turn the radio up just to drown memories out but they just get a little louder,

 

Bottle of alcohol went and drank it all only found an empty glass at the end,

 

Minutes apart another tear of the heart hours pass scars are all that are left,

 

Saw you last week our friends say that broken hearts mirror the same hurt,

 

Phone rings your name flashes on the screen but still not ready for that pain,

 

Almost half wishing you are on the other end ready to be the first to cave in,

 

Was tired of being the bad guy every day because you didnt have your way,

 

Nothing left is the same two lovers stained by the hell of another lonely day,

 

Wake up to cold sheets wanting the warmth of your body here next to me,

 

Think that we both agree nobody was right that last night we were together,

 

Who has last laugh when neither side is happy with the outcome of goodbye,

 

Love and war is a battle ground where no one really has the chance to win.
